If the organization put more emphasis on faith in God and not on "solid facts that this system is ending" they would not be having this problem. To much to often the society pushes people to believe things because they are "logical" and "make sense". This is a horrible way to develop spiritual people. What you have is a bunch of people whose entire religious belief system is built around physical things. Think about some of the main beliefs people in the WTS hold:
1. It is an undenyable fact that we are living in the last days.
2. It is an undenyable fact that only one organization is approved by God on this earth.
3. It is an undenyable fact that in the near future the earth will be transformed and everyone will expierance a life full of plenty.
The society has created some very thin ice for itself by pushing these things for years.
Weak faith in God + Strong Faith in Organization = Confused Followers

After many years in hiding the WTS is actually making a sad attempt to go back to its "roots". This special talk is featured on the back of one of the latest magazines. I don't remember seeing that before. The also are trying to get people to hand out tracts to advertise their conventions. Dosn't this seem a little late? I can't believe they are trying to resurrect things from the past.

At the business where i work we get five of these a week.
Another amazing scam that i've found out about it how some of these guys run programs on their computers to generate fake credit cards they can use to buy merchandise from websites. They find somebody in the states who is willing to let the stuff be shipped to their house. The deal is that they agree to send half of what they get to the person in the other country. I've heard reports of people who have ENTIRE HOUSES (no joke!) full of packages, essentially the UPS man unloads an entire truck right at their house! It's amazing what goes on out there. -

Well, the other day at the meeting and Elder approached me and aksed how I was doing. What he was doing was working his way into me to schedule a sheparding call. I've done my best to be ignored up untill this point (never have gotten a sheparding call, ever!) but now they think that i'm spiritually slipping because I don't comment and put out nothing in the way of service time. The funny thing is how much they DON'T know about me. I've been around them for quite some time, but they know nothing about who I am. All of my conversations with Elders have been under 2 minutes. I blew him off on Sunday and thankfully nothing got scheduled, but it will come eventually. I'll keep you guys posted.

Ironic hypocrisy of Bethel "service"
by MinisterAmos ini normally let people make their own decisions with a very hands off approach, but after reading the "living together in bethel" (or whatever the name of the piece of crap book is) i need to vent a bit.. anyone here is very familiar with the "quit your job or at least cut way back" talks that we were subjected to seemingly every other week.
after all, good dubz need time to prepare, attend, pioneer etc.
a good friend of mine left her job at an insurance co. to pioneer.

It's amazing how people can be persuaded to believe they are serving their craetor when all they are doing is furthering the goals of a human organization. The amazing thing about many who give it all up to pioneer is that although it makes an effect on the worldwide growth, the dubs whould actually gain more members by simply being a little more moderate and community friendly. Instead they push those who believe into the ground with the cracking of the whip.
